Spanning France, the United States and China, Escaping Robert Parker is about the outspoken young winemaker Julian and his quest to escape the influence of the powerful wine critic Robert Parker, who rates wines on a 50-to-100 point scale for his publication The Wine Advocate. By the climax of this hip documentary movie, when Julian and Robert Parker come face to face to taste the legendary 2005 Bordeaux vintage, they are equals of sorts.
After watching Escaping Robert Parker, wine drinkers everywhere can ask themselves, should they listen to Julian or Robert Parker?
